session 1
Brainstorm AIM* (audience, intention and message) for your core speech using the framework taught at Stanford Business School. (*AIM model from Guide to Presentations, Mary M. Munter and Lynn Russell, 2013)
Explore stories, data, analogies, examples and questions to include as connection points with the audience
- Review videotape together of a recent talk; MW to provide feedback
session 2
- Review and adjust results of Session 1 re: AIM (audience, intent and message)
- Give an executive summary of your speech in approximately one minute
- Practice by telling several stories; MW to provide feedback on content and delivery
session 3
- Draft an outline for your core speech
- Explore options for a compelling opening and closing
- Continue with presentation practice and feedback
session 4
- Continue to develop outline
- Review executive summary
- Begin drafting presentation visuals
- Continue with presentation practice and feedback
session 5
- Finalize presentation content
- Create a list of questions you might get from an audience, develop a structure to address them effectively
- Continue with presentation practice and feedback
Session 6
- Rehearse the speech and address questions; MW to provide feedback on content and delivery
